  • Hello xanga....

    I will be going to London for 10 days next month, so this last blog was a great motivator! lol

    I'm just about finished with my freshman year of college & things are going wonderfully! ..I went on the Alan Hutchcroft Alternative Spring Break trip with 46 other students/faculty/staff/alum of Rockford College in the first week of march to Starkville, Mississippi & helped start the building of two houses for habitat for humanity. That trip was one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done. I plan to go back for as long as time/money allow! Another big PLUS from the trip is that I met some wonderful girls who will, in the fall, be my roomies at school! [moving on campus in the fall instead of commuting!] I had been skeptical about living on campus before...mainly because of not really seeing a point in living on campus when I can drive 10 minutes and be at school. However, I just really feel like I need the independence & "real college experience." ALso in the fall I will be an orientation leader for all the new freshmen and transfer students. I'm sooo super pumped for this adventure! hehe

    Back to the London thing-- My Rotaract Club and i will be traveling to London from May 13-23. It will be my first time on a plane and out of the country (not counting going over the border at Niagara Falls to the Canada side back in '99). We will be doing service work with Toynbee Hall, meeting up with a Rotaract Club there, and of course, doing TONS of sightseeing. I'm very excited to be able to see my Belgian friend again who was a foreign exchange student last school year at my high school. ..how i miss him!:)

    THENNNN this summer, I just found out last tuesday, that JOHN MAYER is doing a US tour after his little stint in the UK for a few shows! HOLY GOD.... you better believe I'll be going to the two shows near where I live. I will soooo be first in line on saturday for those tickets =)

    Another nice item on my list... i've dated a couple of different guys this semester & boy has that been interesting..nothing too serious, but def. the first time i've just dated! (never had time in h.s. with being so involved & never meeting new people because I was always working or at school until late hours.) One of them may stick around for a while-- we shall see =-]

    I would love to help out Phantom while they are staying at the RC campus this summer-- hopefully I'll have some extra time! [pending my current job or new job allows...depends on what happens with this Linens-N-Things bankruptcy issue....]

    JULY= roadtrip to South Carolina!
    June= Six Flags Great America
              SHOW OF SHOWS! {YAY PHANTOM!!!!}

    Other summer adventures: camping, tubing, fake-prom, planning for the fall with Campus Activities Board & Rotaract, helping with Elliot's show, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown.. & much much morrrrre

    I shall make this my last blog until something amazing happens... It's been a while, xanga, but I won't leave you forever.

    This year is/has been/will be amazing and I can't wait!!!!!

    See ya when I see ya

    I want to go to London...

    I WILL go to London...

    Whether it's study abroad for a semester through Rockford College & then there for my masters..

    Or finishing up my undergrad there & then getting my masters.

    Oh boy.

    Power of positive thinking, don't fail me now!

  • Well, SOS was nothing short of amazing.

    Colts def. put on a very interesting & fun & whimsical show.

    & I love scouts, but they've def. gone downhill a bit over the last few years (but are still enteraining)

    BLUE KNIGHTS! What a great show!!!!

    I still think Phantom deserved that win, though. On Air is amazing & the music is damn precise. The fun part is knowing that the show will only get better from here. =)

    Damnit, I really want to make it out to the show on July 27th in Naperville! Seeing where Phantom's show is then & also seeing Cavies this year for the first time is a must for me.

    Anyways, going to a hotel in town on the 3rd and seeing TOOL  July 4th in Milwaukee with some of my best friends sounds like an amazing plan..so I really hope it goes down.

    I seriously need to practice my trumpet. It's been far too long since I've picked it up.

    Later days...

  • Well, xanga people , since last posting I've....

    Graduated& decided on a school for the fall (at least for one year)- Rockford College; been in my last high school musical (The Pajama Game); put on Mr. JHS; helped out with Phantom (YAY PLUME CREW) & gone to several of their camps; received many scholarships so that next year will not really be a burden on loans for myself or payments for my parents; gone to a couple of proms (JHS&EHS) & basically just have been having a great transition-summer between high school & college.

    This summer will be /has been full of:

    Concerts (JM-SUmmerfest overnight!, S.o.S.-PR, & probably some of my friends' bands...)
    Working (Still at the LNT)
    Camping *hopefully*
    Swimming (in my new pool & in other people's pools)
    Grad Parties out the wazoo! (Mine=this weekend)
    My cousin's wedding (this weekend, also)
    Going to Great America in July
    Sleepovers
    Bon Fires
    The Anti-Prom
    & of course just hanging out with friends as much as possible- esp. those going off to school in the fall!

About Me

  • I'm a newly graduated senior from Jefferson High School in Rockford,IL (2007). My life this summer consists of working, helping out w/Phantom (ya'll better like those plumes!), hanging out with my friends, and making the most of this last summer as a "kid". I'll be going to Rockford College in the fall & staying at home--at least for next year. I am going to be a Marketing major/performing arts&accounting minor. I absolutely love music, and have a huge obsession with John Mayer's music.
